Important Fees may be due at the time of registration. See the Fees Information Page for due dates and drop information. Students must attend/participate on the first day of class or may be dropped from the class by the instructor. It is the student's responsibility to drop class(es) by the appropriate deadline. Students who remain enrolled after the last date to drop with a refund are not eligible for a refund and remain financially responsible for payment of fees even if they drop the class or are dropped by their instructor.
IMPORTANT INFORMATION ABOUT ADDING CLASSES:
FALL/SPRING SEMESTERS:
Open classes can be added through the end of the 1st week of the semester. During the 2nd week of the semester, even though the seat count indicates that there are seats available in a class, students may only add full-term classes with an Add Authorization Number that they will receive from the instructor. Only the instructor can provide Add Authorization Numbers, and all numbers must be used by the last date to add a class.
SUMMER SESSIONS and SHORT-TERM CLASSES:
During Summer sessions and for short-term classes, Add Authorization Numbers are required as of the first class meeting even if it appears that there are open seats in the class. Only the instructor can provide Add Authorization Numbers, and all numbers must be used by the last date to add class.
HYBRID/PARTIALLY-ONLINE CLASSES:
Courses that require classroom attendance with an online component.
HYFLEX CLASSES:
Certain hybrid/partially-online classes are designed to provide students with more flexibility in their mode of attendance. These HyFlex classes involve class sessions in which some students attend class meetings in-person with the instructor on campus, and some students attend remotely and synchronously via a live Zoom meeting.

For more information on how to search on specific modes of instruction offered, see the Map Your Future website and click on Modes of Instruction Offered.

Additional Notes Note: CRN 70998 – Students do not have to take World History I to take this course. This section of World History II is an 18-week on ground/in-person hybrid course that will include one scheduled meeting each week on campus (see schedule for day, time, and classroom). The assigned books and reliable access to a computer and internet is required (free internet is available in the OC parking lot and OC Library). You can find textbook information at oxnardcollegebookstore.com. You will need the books the first week of class. One week before the class starts you may enter the classroom (by clicking on “My Courses” inside your my.vcccd.edu portal, then clicking on the class name under Canvas, your course management system). Orientation takes place during that Preview Week. The actual class starts as indicated in the Oxnard College schedule. First day of class attendance is required and there is a strict attendance policy for this class, failure to participate in class may result in being dropped from the course. Submission of work also counts towards attendance/participation. You may not, at any time, miss more than 1/6th of the class. If you have not logged in to the course by 7:00 P.M. on the first day of class, you may be dropped. Additionally, if you do not complete the required assignments for the first week by their due date, you may be dropped. Waitlisted students should also login to the class by 7:00 P.M. on the first day to retain their enrollment. Now that we’ve got that out of the way, let’s have some fun learning!
